The Family Behind the Bison
We Want to Build Your Roof the Right Way
Learn about the standard we build our roofs to, and the family values our business is based on.
Our Mission
Why We Started Black Bison Roofing
I started this company in 2019 because I kept watching roofs get sold on price and built on shortcuts. We build the opposite way. Every roof gets the same specification, the same tear-off down to solid wood, and the same plain explanation of what you are paying for.
That is the whole of it: quality you can verify, and straight answers you can hold us to. My family’s name is on this business, and every crew that shows up carries it.
The Black Bison Standard
The Black Bison Standard
One standard covers every roof we touch, home or building: honest scope, quality materials at every layer, and straight answers at every stage. These are the values we build on:
Builder Integrity
Full tear-off, decking inspected, rot replaced before anything new goes on.
Attention to Every Layer
High quality materials are used from the underlayment to ridge cap, matched to the roof they protect.
Insurance Claims Advocacy
A trained claims advocate on the file from the day it opens until it pays.
Down to the Wood
Why We Work Down to the Wood
The parts of a roof that fail first are the parts nobody sees from the street. We’ll go down to the wood surface the roof sits on because any rotten boards need to be replaced before new shingles go on top.
The shortcut we reject is to roof over whatever is there. New shingles above soft, decaying wood look fine from the curb while the rot keeps spreading quietly, right up until the deck gives. We would rather show you bare, solid wood first.
Family Values
Built on Family Values & Builder Integrity
Black Bison is a family business, and we treat a customer’s roof the way we would want ours treated. Our first year in roofing left us with a running list of things we would never do to a customer, and that list got long enough to build a company around.
We do a lot of the things that the average roofer might overlook over or skip to cut costs. They rely on your ignorance to get away with it, which is why integrity is so important to us.
Our Symbol
Why We Chose the Black Bison as Our Symbol
A bison does not go around a storm. It turns into the weather and walks through it head-on. That’s how we run the business: meet the challenges each job brings us and remain focused until the work is done.
We wanted a symbol that would stand out as solid and strong as the roofs we build. We’re grateful for every customer that places their trust in us, and it’s our pleasure to deliver roofs we’re proud of.
